Restoring Nature, Empowering Communities

The Scientific Agri-Forest and Humanity Organization (SAHO) is dedicated to conserving biodiversity across Tanzania through afforestation, research, environmental education, community capacity building, and advocacy for sustainable policies, fostering a future of ecological harmony and resilience.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and SAHO

UN Sustainable Development Goals wheel showing all 17 goals around a globe

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aim to protect the planet, eradicate poverty, combat injustice and inequality, and address climate change by 2030. The Scientific Agri-Forest and Humanity Organization (SAHO) contributes significantly to these global objectives through its dedicated efforts in environmental conservation, community empowerment, and sustainable practices. By focusing on afforestation, biodiversity preservation, and education, SAHO directly supports at least 12 SDGs while indirectly contributing to all 17 due to their interconnected nature.

SAHO's Contributions to the SDGs

Our work directly aligns with multiple Sustainable Development Goals, creating lasting impact across communities and ecosystems.

SDG 1: No Poverty

Through our community empowerment programs, we provide sustainable livelihood opportunities, particularly for widows and vulnerable community members, helping them achieve economic independence.

SDG 4: Quality Education

Our environmental education programs reach schools and communities, raising awareness about conservation, climate change, and sustainable practices among children and adults.

SDG 5: Gender Equality

We specifically focus on empowering women, especially widows, through capacity building programs that provide them with skills and resources for sustainable livelihoods.

SDG 13: Climate Action

Through large-scale afforestation and reforestation projects, we combat climate change by sequestering carbon and restoring degraded ecosystems across Tanzania.

SDG 15: Life on Land

Our biodiversity conservation efforts protect endangered species, restore habitats, and maintain ecological balance through scientific research and community-based conservation initiatives.

SDG 17: Partnerships

We collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, academic institutions, and local communities to achieve our conservation goals through strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing.
